Mrs. Mire’s Classroom Rules & Procedures

BEGINNING OF CLASS:

• Walk in quietly and sit in your assigned seat.
• Place everything you need for math on your desk. (agenda, pencil bag. workbook, binder)
• Leave laptop in your book sack unless it says to take it out.
• Sharpen pencils if needed.
• Copy daily assignments in your agenda.

BINDER:

• Eureka Squared Lesson Recaps (small binder)
• Math Section for all other math pages (large binder)

COMPUTER:

• Laptops will be left in your book sack until you are instructed to get them out for use.
• Memorize your CPSB username & password.

TEST:

• Majority of test are taken on the computer, but you MUST show your work on paper.
• Turn in process paper to the black shelves by the door under your hour.
• If you finish a test and there is class time remaining, you can work on homework or work on review/constructed response work.

GRADED PAPERS:

• Record grade in your Grade Tracker
• Turn graded paper back into me
• Graded papers do not go home

MAKE-UP WORK:

• Check Canvas & Agenda Board to see what you missed
• Make-up test will be placed in your hours folder on the front wall under “What did I miss?”
• Make-up work will be place in the white bin under the Agenda board for each day
• You are responsible for picking up your own work and completing it and returning it to me within 3 days of returning to school
• LAST RESORT – You can ask me at the END OF CLASS if you don’t know what you need

HOMEWORK:

• HOMEWORK IS IMPORTANT!!! HOMEWORK IS IMPORTANT!!! HOMEWORK IS IMPORTANT!!!
• Homework will be checked at the end of each Topic before the Topic test.

LEAVING CLASS:

• You have plenty of time to use the restroom between classes
• Emergencies are an exception
• Time out of class = instruction time missed

DISMISSAL FROM MATH CLASS:

• I will tell you when it’s time to pack up or log off the laptop. NEVER PACK UP EARLY!!

SUBS:

• Best class gets a reward
• Double write-up for behavior issues

MATH CLASS RULES:

• Enter quietly & Sit immediately
• Follow directions the FIRST time given.
• Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.
• Do not get up to throw trash away. Keep it at your desk till the end of class.
• Raise 1,2,3 fingers for the following:
  1. Need a pencil – take care of pencils at the beginning of class
  2. Need a tissue  (Remember Two, Tissue)
  3. Need the restroom (Remember Last Resort)
• Always be respectful to EVERYONE! I do not tolerate bullying of any kind.
• Keep hands, feet, and objects to self.
• ALL Math should be done in pencil.
• Pencils can only be sharpened the first 5 minutes of class
• Calculators are NOT used daily.  I will tell you when you can use it.
• No food, candy, or gum in class.
• Please cover your mouth when sneezing, coughing, or yawning.
• Raise your hand and wait to be called on. Do not blurt out.
• When someone comes to the door everyone should stop talking.
• Follow all school dress code rules.
• Always write your Name, Date, Hour, & Number on everything your turn in.
• NO TALKING when announcements are on.

Grading Scale:

A = 100% - 93%, 4.00 – 3.50 / 4 quality points

A = 92% - 85%, 3.49 – 2.50 / 3 quality points

A = 84% - 75%, 2.49 – 1.50 / 2 quality points

A = 75% - 67%, 1.50 – 1.00 / 1 quality point

A = 66% - 0%, below 1.00 / 0 quality points

 

Important Info:

• Work not turned in will be marked as an “X” and average as an “F” in the gradebook.
• Work turned in without a name will be marked as an “X” and average as a “F” in the gradebook.
• Classwork & Homework will be written on my Agenda as well as on Canvas & my Teacher Website.
• Most of our test will be taken on the Eureka Math Squared online site.
