STAR

The purpose of STAR (Student Tutors at Recess) is to establish and encourage student participation in reaching out to their peers academically, as well as socially; to promote ideals of comradery, compassion, and the true spirit of friendship where students help and support one another, and lift their spirits and confidence.  3-4 STAR participants tutor their peers during their grade level recess every Tuesday, and must maintain a "B" average to do so.   Faculty members are STAR advisors.  Anyone from the student body can choose to go to "Tutor Tuesday," or they may also be recommended to attend by a teacher who feels it would be beneficial for them. STAR is open to all 6th, 7th & 8th grade students.
