6th and 7th Grade Resource

 

  The major focus of the Resource Classroom is to provide instruction for students with mild to moderate developmental disabilities in a small group classroom environment. Classes concentrate on developing basic academic skills.  The program is taught by a teacher who also serves as student liaison and monitors student participation in mainstream programs while consulting with classroom teachers, parents, school administrators and other professionals within the school system.   A student may participate in the program from one to two class periods a day.  The Resource Classroom offers academic courses in the required academic areas of English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Spelling in a small group setting . Computer skills are integrated into course instruction as students have the opportunity to use computers within the classroom and/or in the computer lab to complete assigned work.    I am looking forward to this school year and working with the students!
