Science Club

The MBMS Science Club is a club that encourages students to become active scientists. The MBMS Science Club meets one afternoon a month. During the after-school meetings, students participate in hands-on activities, such as the Egg Bungee Jump, which was the featured activity in our first meeting. Students created a device that would allow a raw egg to "bungee jump" without breaking. Students also participate in other projects that involve integrating technology with all areas of science, such as the Nature Scavenger Hunt, using Handheld devices and GPS orienting. During the year the Science Club also participates in special projects that promote environmental education, such as the JASON project. Students also venture out on field trips to explore exhibits, such as the Body Worlds 3 and the McGovern Museum of Medical Science.
